Breathe, watch, wait, love, and learn. I wrote these down and will be practicing every chance I get! Question: how do you remind yourself to do these? I know that deep breathing is helpful, but somehow when I get upset it’s hard to remember.

As always, very wise words. I, too, wrote them down and will start using them. I especially liked that you started with the “breathe” to give yourself that time and space, instead of immediately reacting to what is before you. Thank you!

Those five tools are very important as well when one is diagnosed with cancer! I know that for myself when fear grips one’s throat with this type of diagnosis. My cancer is now gone but of course little twinges and doubts can throw me into the pit again. So, breathing–I know I am alive–, watching–let’s see how things unfold–, waiting–a course of action will become clear–, love–it is the reason for life itself–, and learn–staying present to what I need to know–. These actions and attitudes keep me calm, centered and truly alive. Therein is the beauty of something very scary.
