Wonder what Martha has been up to? Listen in!

The other day, I was looking at Martha’s travel schedule and wondered what it is really like to be on the road for a book tour.
I was also curious about how people have been reacting to her new book Steering by Starlight.
The result is this 30-minute phone conversation, recorded today, about the book tour and a lot more. Martha goes into fascinating detail about the content contained in the book, as well as her own vision for where the planet is headed. In typical Martha style, it is small stuff, like an entire shift in human consciousness.

Can I ask a question? Why does Martha hardly ever post on her own blog? I have this blog in my reader and trot loyally over here every time a new post appears and read something written by your good self Pam. I have no issue with that other than it’s not whats on the tin, so to speak. It may as well be called the Pamela Slim Blog.

Very fair question.
I think we really need to rebrand the blog as the “Martha Beck Inc.” blog, since its intent is to share tools and concepts covered in Martha’s books and articles in a way that can be useful and applicable to blog readers. Our design from the beginning was to have me as the primary writer, and to eventually include input from some other coaches and occasionally Martha herself.
Given Martha’s writing and travel schedule, it is unlikely that she will be able to contribute posts very often (not from lack of desire, believe me!). So maybe we can do a bit of clarification on the focus of the blog in case there is anyone like you who wonders why the heck my name always shows up under the banner.

I was very interested as I listened to the phone interview with Martha. I was especially interested when she mentioned the “team” and that many feel a “call”–like she does to Africa–to various parts of the world. I have that call–or maybe better said, a nagging–that I need to be doing something in Romania. I’ve been once visiting poor villagers and distributing food and rarely a day goes by when I don’t think about going back. So, who are the “team” she’s talking about? Her coaches? Just wondering…and does she say anything specific about this “call” in her new book?

Okay–took a second listen to the interview and I get what the team is now! So, I guess I’m part of that team Martha began to imagine so many years ago and sees going into action now. I’ve read “North Star” and I’ve just ordered the book from Amazon and can’t wait to read it!

Pamela, I really enjoyed listening to your podcast. In fact it made my day.
I have Martha’s “Finding Your Own North Star” book and listening to her and sort of putting a voice to a name has made her (and you) more a a “real” person.
And what made the call even more interesteing was that Martha had been doing her housework while being interviewed. What a good example of multi-tasking!
Please continue with your interviews and podcasts. I’m looking forward to “hearing from you” again.

Hi Pamela,
I just listened to the podcast and what a wonderful way to get the latest and greatest information on what Martha is doing, feeling and what she encountered on her book tour. She has such a lovely way of presenting this information without ownership in a ‘look what else I figured out’ approach that is so easy to understand.
I have read Steering by Starlight before Finding Your Own North Star and I agree that what that book generated out of me was totally unexpected and a incredibly magical experience. I just finished it last week and I am going to read it several more times to see if the magic continues. I would like to get more details about the tasks that are my reason for being on this earth.
I look forward to her next book (mentioned in the podcast) about ‘being on the team’ and how we can move from wherever we are right now to progressing on our life’s work.
I am living in London so it is amazing and magical that Martha is speaking in London in late June. I have bought a ticket and I will be there with bells on!!!

I have read North Star and am 3/4 of the way through Starlight. I have hired my own exceptional life coach and today told her that this is a must read!!! (She had recommended Northstar and has read Four Day Win but not Starlight).
The thing I love about Martha’s work is the practical, hands on, these are the steps you take, approach that she give to everything. Having said that, I would also add that via Starlight, you can see that she too keeps evolving and growing. Hallelujah to that! Thanks for helping me (and my life coach ) make me feeeeeel again! Can’t wait until I see where my Northstar leads me.

How great to have these phone blogs with Martha. I SO agree with what Martha says about something magical going on right now – an awakening – a change in consciousness. I’m finding the same thing… so many people are saying the same thing, in different ways. And, I’m finding the same thing as Martha – meeting the people I’m supposed to – so much serendipity coming my way, including meeting some special people at Martha’s lecture at the 92nd Street Y last week.

hi. i just want say martha beck. i am on the same channel and who is going to understand all these awakenings thuoghts and start doing something and what is that?.. that we are awakening for… i feel like im living with robots in school.. i just see that most of the people are in automatic mood or something.. help

Thanks for the podcast, it is great to hear Martha’s voice and hear her perspectives. I wish she or someone could help me with what’s going in since reading her new book. I have these terrible feelings that something is going to happen to my middle daughter. She is an amazing spiritual little girl (6) and I don’t know if this is my inner lizard or what but it is truly bugging me and upsetting me. What is this about and why would reading this book bring on such great fear and trepedation of such a horrible thing? Any thoughts out there??? Just saying this out loud feels cathartic since if I told my husband he would laugh call me a worry wart.

Please don’t apologize or think you are crazy for noticing this “Magical” happening going on. You are not crazy!! Your amazingly rational and sane!
I have been noticing this “there are no accidents” phenomenon for years and have come to just expect and appreciate it for what it is.

When I was in high school (about 10 years ago) I had a dream that I was walking down the halls of my school and it was filled with people just like it normally was between classes. However, the odd thing is that they weren’t solid- they were all white with black outlines. As I walked through the halls I started to notice that not all of them were white with a black outline; some of them were a brilliant blue color. And they radiated so beautifully. I had been feeling so alone during this time and when I saw the blue people (that’s how I refer to them) I felt a sense of relief because I knew that even though we were few- there were at least a couple of us in every few hundred. And I had this sense of knowing that they were like me and that I wasn’t alone.
I have told very few people about that dream and when I heard about Martha’s drawing on the recording, I knew it was the same thing! It had to be! So many odd things have been happening to me. I’ve been sick with a mystery illness since I graduated high school, and now I’m starting to think that it has something to do with this, but I’m feeling confused and freaked out a bit.
What in the world is going on?
