Welcome!

You did it!

Your reservation for the 2025 Pure.Wild.Self Retreat with Martha and Ro is now confirmed! We can’t wait to share this immersive and transformational retreat with you at the Imiloa Institute next January. We intend to make it a thoroughly “bewildering” experience for us all!

What’s next, you may ask? Here are some “turtle steps” to get you started!

Step 1: Read and Sign the Imiloa Institute Terms & Conditions Agreement.

Step 2: Download your Pure.Wild.Self Retreat Guide. This is a comprehensive “info pack” containing everything you need to know about getting to Costa Rica and to Imiloa itself, what to pack, and what to expect when you get there. We recommend printing or saving a copy with easy access!

Step 3: Complete your Retreat Intake Form. This is super important! It will take less than 10 minutes and will provide crucial information for us and for the retreat center. (This is due no later than May 2, 2024.)

Step 4: Review the flight arrival requirements below, and book your flight(s) to Costa Rica!

Step 5: Complete the Travel Details Form including your flight numbers. (This must be completed no later than September 30, 2024.)

Traveling to Costa Rica and the Imiloa Institute

FLIGHT ARRIVAL REQUIREMENTS: The deadline to book your flight is September 30. (Don’t forget to send us the Travel Details Form once you have confirmed your flights!)

Arrival at San Jose International Airport, Costa Rica (SJO)
We recommend arriving in San Jose on Sunday, January 19, and staying overnight; your private charter flight to Imiloa departs on the morning of January 20.

If you arrive in San Jose on January 19, the Imiloa team recommends staying at the nearby hotel Alta Las Palomas Hotel or one of the other recommendations in your Retreat Guide.

(Note: It is possible to arrive in Costa Rica on the same day as the retreat starts, but if you can’t get to the domestic terminal of San Jose International Airport by 7:00 am, you will probably miss the charter flight.)

Private charter flight to the Imiloa Institute
All retreat participants and hosts need to be at the San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) domestic terminal at 8:45 am on Monday, January 20. The charter flight will depart at 9:15 am sharp.

We will arrive at Imiloa at around 11:30 am.

About the charter arrival flight
The Imiloa Institute privately charters flights from SJO to their landing strip near Imiloa. This cuts the travel time from 4 hours in the car to 20 minutes by plane. It’s a wonderful way to arrive and completely complimentary for Pure.Wild.Self Retreat participants!

Please note:
If you arrive at the domestic terminal at SJO after the suggested time and miss your charter flight, you don’t have to miss the whole retreat. Contact Imiloa for assistance—but you will be responsible for your own transportation to Imiloa as well as any cost incurred.

If you choose not to utilize the provided charter flight(s), you are responsible for the cost of alternative transportation. Contact Imiloa for options.

Departure from Imiloa

Departure date: Saturday, January 25, 2025

You will depart the Imiloa campus at 9:00 am and your estimated arrival time at SJO airport is 10:30 am.

From the domestic terminal, it will take 5-10 minutes to walk to the SJO international terminal.

It is generally recommended that you be at the international terminal at least 2.5 hours before your international flight departs. Please book accordingly.

Important note: The Imiloa Institute requires participants to purchase travel insurance and health insurance. Imiloa recommends Global Rescue for travel insurance to cover trip interruption or trip cancellation. We recommend doing your own research to find the best fit for your needs! Here is a resource to get you started.

Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for the Pure.Wild.Self Retreat. There are only a limited number of spots available, and so by registering, you are committing to paying the full amount for the room you select.
