My Coaching Origins

I didn’t start out to be a “life coach.” I’d always longed to do some good in the world, but basically, I was just trying to create a meaningful, authentic life for myself. I was startled when people began asking me to teach them the methods I’d devised to cope with my own personal and professional challenges.

I see life coaching as something that arose from a gap in the culture where things began changing so quickly that traditional institutions couldn’t keep up. People didn’t have a place to go for support when they were navigating change, so life coaching sprang into being.

The International Coaching Federation, the gold standard for certification, defines life coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires people to maximize their personal and professional potential.

In my Wayfinder Life Coach Training program, we define coaching as a process to help clients connect with their inherent knowledge about the meaning, purpose, and destiny that is waiting for them specifically, and then we support them in creating those lives.

Wayfinder Life Coach Training

Unlike other coaching programs, Wayfinder Life Coach Training begins by teaching my transformational “Change Cycle” model. This model teaches trainees to uncover obstacles that are holding their clients back so that they can move toward their unique destiny.

We believe that each person has the key to their own right life within them. Our job is to help them access and act on that information rather than offer advice about what we think they should do.

Our 211-hour Level 2 ICF-accredited program has three distinct components:

Live Coaching Classes

Interactive and hands-on classes (with recordings available for anyone who can’t make it live) comprise the bulk of your training. With your small group class, you’ll have the chance to work with the tools you’re learning from every angle: as “coach,” as “client,” and as the observer of your peers’ learning.

Your instructor in these classes will be a seasoned Wayfinder Master Coach with extensive experience using the tools in real-life contexts. Your instructor and group will create a welcoming space where you’ll feel empowered to practice coaching and receive constructive feedback.

In-Depth Mentoring from Trained Master Coaches

There are two types of mentoring in Wayfinder Life Coach Training:

Group mentoring

These will allow you to integrate and blend all the coaching skills and tools you’ve learned in the training. They will cover aspects of effective coaching, ethical decision-making, and the ICF core competencies, as well as give you ample opportunity to ask questions.

Individual (one-on-one) mentoring

All trainees wishing to become a Certified Wayfinder Coach are offered individual mentoring sessions as a part of the training. These sessions will help you become a more skillful coach and are a key part of the certification process.

Business for Wayfinders Classes

Our business classes are full of exercises and processes to help you create clarity around your unique practice, whether you coach for a living or use your Wayfinder tools in another way. The ethics materials and the ideas you will have at the end will be worth their weight in gold.

Our team of expert coaches will show you how to establish your unique coaching style and use the Wayfinder coaching skills to begin forming your practice. You’ll learn the fundamental tools to attract your perfect clients, create your offers, set up your business, and market your business with honesty and heart.

Wayfinder Life Coach Certification

Many trainees choose to be certified as a Wayfinder Life Coach, as it is generally seen to lend legitimacy to your status as a life coach: a “seal of approval” and confirmation that you have mastered the Wayfinder tools and are ready to launch your coaching practice.

Certification and the International Coaching Federation (ICF)

Wayfinder Life Coach Training is a Level 2 ICF-accredited coach training program that gives you the ability to pursue an ICF credential with more ease if you wish.

Anyone who successfully completes our 211-hour training will not only become a Certified Wayfinder Life Coach, but they will also have the training, mentoring hours, and evaluation they need to apply for an ICF credential at the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) or Professional Certified Coach (PCC) level.

Professionals with coaching skills are increasingly sought after in the business and non-profit sectors. Becoming an ICF-accredited coach can open up opportunities in areas like leadership development, executive coaching, professional development, and team-building.

How Much Does It Cost to Become a Life Coach?

The tuition for our nine-month ICF-accredited Wayfinder Life Coach Training program can be paid in monthly installments, and the exact pricing can be found on our Registration page.

The Wayfinder Life Coach certification cost is included in your tuition. There is no additional fee required. Many trainees choose to be certified as a Wayfinder Life Coach, though evaluation is optional and does not guarantee that you will be certified.
