About this episode

In this episode Martha and Ro talk about the “ultimate spiritual lifehack” for dealing with other human beings. Conflict is everywhere, and you can’t win enough arguments to ever escape the culture of argument itself. So Martha and Ro suggest a process of “ghosting” this part of the culture. The solution? It’s all about empty boats! Listen for insight, giggles, and a guest appearance by Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s stake!

Show Notes

In this episode Martha and Ro talk about the “ultimate spiritual lifehack” for dealing with other human beings. Our culture is rife with conflict, creating argument where there needn’t be. And we can all get hooked into arguments, everywhere from Facebook to the grocery store. That’s where the lifehack comes in. Learn a method for abandoning (or “ghosting”) the conflict culture altogether. How? You get there by combining ancient Chinese wisdom with high-speed collisions in seagoing vessels!

This episode also attempts to figure out why Ro sings “Big Spender” whenever she enters her kitchen, how and why Marty listens to audiobooks on triple speed, and some areas of listener bewilderment, including the phenomenon of gnocchi, which of course has puzzled generations of great thinkers.

You’ll learn why Martha fears the wrath of our podcast producer, Scott. You’ll encounter a guest (metaphorical) appearance by Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s stake. You’ll discover why Ro’s spiritual epiphany made Martha think of a woman licking windows in a bar.

Best of all, you’ll learn a technique to completely neutralize conflict, aggression, or argument when it’s directed at you.
